Special Guest Speaker

Kings Grant Civic League will have a soldier who has recently served in Iraq/Afghanistan to speak at its meeting on March 20th.  The speaker has been asked to discuss how our troops feel about serving there and their perception of how they are received by the local population.  He can also speak on any other aspects of his tour over there.

Noteworthy

FCHS

In honor of the class of 2010, students at First Colonial High School donated 2,010 books to a small village in the Philippines to start a library.  Congratulations to the PTSA Gradfest Committee, the Gifted Advisory Board, and the Legal Studies Academy for helping PE Teacher Cindy Midkiff make this possible.

UNLOCKED Cars:

Over the last several nights four cars in our community were opened and rummaged through.  According to the police, the MO of this type of incident is for a group of 3-6 people to check out all cars in an area late at night to determine which ones are unlocked.  They then open and loot each one. Once they find an area where there are unlocked cars, they tend to keep coming back.  For the safety of your family and your neighbors, please lock your cars at night.

Special Thanks!

Sometimes people in our community do things just to make our place in this world just a little better.  They don't want thanks, they don't expect thanks, but they deserve thanks.
  • Thank you to the Little Neck Garden Club and the Little Neck Cove Civic League for making our drive down Little Neck Rd on Spring days a little more pleasant.  The daffodils, the first flower of spring, with its bright cheerful blossom remind us of all the joy and happiness we have in our lives.  Thank you for taking the time to plant them so that we can enjoy them year after year.

  • Jack and Linda Patton of Little Neck Road deserve a special thanks for the flags on the poles along Little Neck Road.  What an inspiration!  They are responsible for thousands of smiles.  Neighbors and visitors driving down Little Neck Road get to the first flag and smile.  They feel welcomed and know that people in this community take the time to make it a better place for all to enjoy.

  • We send thanks to Alice Caffee.  Mrs. Caffee, a Little Haven Rd resident, opened up her home to the Princess Anne Crew team so that they may have access to the Lynnhaven River to improve their skills.  And, since she passed away recently, her family deserves a thanks for allowing the Crew team to continue to have a place to practice.  Residents near Little Haven Road enjoy seeing life on the river.  Teenagers working together and enjoying a healthy activity.

  • Thanks to all the residents of Bishopsgate that worked so diligently to get the City of Virginia Beach to renovate the park.  They have restored an area that is vital to our community.  There is never a sunny day that the park isn't filled with families.  Thank you.

Thanks!!!!

Residents thank the volunteer Little Neck Cove Neighborhood Watch Block Captains for not only keeping a watchful eye out for us all, but for also, over the many years, and without question or complaint, distributing the civic League Newsletter and other neighborhood flyers to keep all well informed.  Thanks neighbors!

Who else deserves our thanks?  Send thanks to littleneckvb@cox.net
